This policy outlines the content suitable for each of the namespaces of AQWiki.

Default Namespace

The default namespace consists of all articles without a prefixed namespace. Articles in this namespace must pertain to AdventureQuest, an online RPG by Artix Entertainment. Naming of these articles are controlled by the naming policy.

Articles relating to DragonFable, MechQuest, and AQ Worlds are discouraged because there are other wikis dedicated to these games. For convenience, interwiki links have been created for simple wikilinking to articles that fall under these wikis. Interwiki links are created by adding a prefix to the article link, as described by the following table:

For example, to create a link to the Mage article at the DragonFable Wiki, use [[dfwiki:mage|mage]], which appears as mage.

Project Namespace

The project namespace consists of all articles prefixed with AQWiki:. These articles should contain policies, guidelines, and other information related to the operation of the wiki itself. Editing of pages in this namespace is generally restricted; questions should be directed to the article's talk page or directly to an admin.

Template Namespace

Templates are special articles made specifically for transclusion into another page. These articles are prefixed with Template:. A template is transcluded by placing the template name within double braces, such as {{example}}, producing Example template.

Caution should be placed when editing a template because it can potentially affect a large number of articles. Be sure to preview or test any changes to minimize the number of edits to these pages.

Help Namespace

This namespace, prefixed with Help:, is unused on AQWiki. It is reserved for pages for general help, however the project namespace will be used for this purpose and all pages should refer to the Wikimedia's meta wiki for official documentation on the software and how to use it.

Image Namespace

This namespace is reserved for uploaded images and their descriptions.

Category Namespace

This namespace is reserved for categories. AQWiki uses a hierarchical scheme where most categories are placed under Category:AdventureQuest Encyclopedia when they pertain to AdventureQuest.
